If I could add any class to our curriculum, it would be a crafting class. I would add it because we don't have many artistic classes besides general art classes and crafting would be cool to do. The students would craft anything the teacher chooses with all types of material the school can afford. They could craft animals, objects, skyscrapers, etc. it would be fun for the students and it's something students would enjoy. Basically any student who is good at crafting or anyone who wants to learn, the class is open to those people and it would be constant crafting every class and it would be fun not boring.
The environment would probably be peaceful or loud depending on what they're crafting and also depending on the kids it can change the feeling of the class. It would probably just look like an art room or something like that where mess can be cleaned up easily and maybe some days it can be an outdoor class. So the feeling and sound of it can vary depending on students, classroom, or what they're crafting. It can be relaxing for many students because it's a past time and for some students crafting or making things is what relaxes them or make them feel good. It would be a class that isn't a waste of time like most classes in our curriculum and it could be fun for teachers and students.
To prove they are actually learning or produce what they have learned they would craft. Grading would be based off of effort because not everyone is artistically gifted, but most people really want to do good so as long as effort is shown they would get a good grade. They would craft what they would like or whatever the teacher wants and the teacher can grade as he/she pleases. Obviously the kids who are just there for a free class would get a bad grade and the ones who actually care would get a good grade. Crafting and showing effort would show their progress and show that they are learning.
